MUSE, Volume 4: A Celebration of Women at PublicHouse & beergarden

What does it mean to be called a ‘Muse”?
As a noun, it means a person — especially a woman — who is a source of artistic inspiration. It seems like the perfect word to encompass this Annual Celebration of Women.

March 8 has been recognized as International Women’s Day since the early 1900’s. International Women's Day celebrates women's achievements in the workplace, and we’ve teamed up with beergarden to amplify and acknowledge the inspirational women in our lives, behind our pubs, creating our beer & spirits, feeding us and… performing on our stage.

Live Musical Performances: Prior to 1900 and even after, it was expected that women would perform music, not make music. Singing was something of an acceptable pastime for a girl, but playing an instrument….?! Writing songs? Producing records? It wasn’t a thing and, for the most part, women didn’t think of themselves as creators of music. So much has changed. So much will continue to change. Both pubs will be showcasing women-led performances and events throughout the four days, including:

  • Thursday, March 5: beergarden Live Music with Connectarine, 7pm

  • Friday, March 6: PublicHouse Live Music with Complicated, 7pm

  • Saturday, March 7: beergarden Live Music with Maya Vagner, 6pm and Acoustic Minds, 7:30pm

  • Sunday, March 8: PublicHouse Paint N Sip with Sierra, 12-2pm

  • Sunday, March 8: PublicHouse Live Music with Pants with Pockets, 3:30pm

From the BeerHall: We’ll be featuring a handful of beers we have on draft from women-led brew teams so stay tuned for those details.

Annual Truffle Week at PublicHouse

Annual Truffle Week at PublicHouse

Truffles… maybe you’ve heard of them! Truffles are a form of fungus that grow underground with tree roots. Oregon is home to 4 native truffle species, and they are widely celebrated in February because it's the traditional time for the truffle harvest season. Truffle Harvesting is usually during the rainier months in Oregon, and the climate in the Valley is ideal for growing truffles because of the cool temperatures, steady rainfall and shady forests. As a matter of fact, in 2024, thanks for the dedication of The Oregon Truffle Festival, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek designated February as Oregon Truffle Month.

The Oregon Truffle Festival (OTF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and one of the country’s most esteemed culinary events. Devoted to Oregon’s native truffles and the burgeoning cultivation of European truffles in the state, the festival has been featured in Departures, the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The New York Times, Saveur, and National Geographic, among others. In 2020, OTF was voted the #5 Specialty Food Festival in the country by readers of USA Today. (oregontrufflefestival.org)

Truffles are a sought-after ingredient for chefs, and the chefs at PublicHouse have requested an event that is truffle-centric! This is the VERY REASON why we’ve decided to make it a celebration! Truffles are a versatile ingredient that can be used in many ways, including: Truffle cheese and charcuterie plates, Truffle bread, Truffle butter, Truffle-inspired dishes, and even Truffle stouts.

FOOD: Each kitchen at PublicHouse is going to feature truffles throughout the week, and we are chompin’ at the bit to find out what dishes they will be preparing. AND— as an added bonus, you’ll receive a raffle ticket with each truffle dish you try. Hand the tickets into the bartender to be entered into the Truffle 26 Raffle. Stay tuned for all of the tasty creations you can expect.

  • Shalosh: Lamb Stroganoff with oyster mushrooms, labneh sauce, truffle infused tagliatelle pasta, chives & fresh shaved black truffle

  • Moi Poki Grill: Lobster Roll with Truffle Butter

  • Black Market BBQ: Brisket, Truffle Cheese (Sottocenere al Tartufo) & Apricot Jam Panini

  • Sugar Kisses: White Chocolate & Macadamia Nut Cookie with white truffle-brown butter & stuffed with black truffle-marshmallow

  • & more to be announced!

BEVERAGES: The BeerHall and Whiskey Lab crews are planning a couple of drink specials as well so make sure to check out their offerings and recommendations for truffle beverage pairings.

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT: If you’re planning your truffle trip during one of the evenings of this event, don’t miss out on the events & entertainment featured on the back Lawn, including:

  • Monday, February 2. TRIVIA with Geo

  • Tuesday, February 3. BINGO with Ty Connor

  • Wednesday, February 4. Chris Baron & Two Secrets, live on the lawn at 6:30pm

January PET ADOPTION EVENT WITH LUCKY PAWS

We are SO EXCITED to announce that we are teaming up with Lucky Paws Rescue for MORE adoption events!

Lucky Paws Rescue is an organization created by animal lovers and advocates to rescue animals in danger of euthanasia, and to save their lives. They focus on having them spayed / neutered, vaccinated, treated and placed in foster homes until they each meet their forever family!

The Lucky Paws crew will be bringing some adoptable friends to our Courtyard for the afternoon, and you’ll have the unique opportunity to come hang out and possibly bring one of them home to join your family.

We’ll be donating $1.00 for every beverage sold to support this amazing organization, and… EVERY pet that is adopted will take home a PublicHouse toy.
